Seriously, you're going to base your decision to hire a home inspector based on the About Me section of his website? Aren't there other qualifications you should be looking for? Maybe. But maybe they're related, and maybe this is the start of the conversation we need to take your new home, your old home, your vacation rental or your investment property and Render it Safe.

How'd we get here? Well, sometimes you've got to do the wrong job for a while to figure out the right one was staring you in the face the whole time. There I sat, your friendly neighborhood insurance agent. Working from 8:30 to 5 behind a desk was never what I had pictured my work life to look like. I'm too active. I'm too people-oriented.

As I reviewed a 4-point inspection on my computer, an idea was rendering itself right there in my mind. It would get me out from behind the desk. It would pique my attention-to-detail brain. Most of all, it would allow me to help people with possibly the biggest purchase of their lives.

120 training hours later, I sat for the state exam and received my license. Research revealed a need for additional training — which is when I tuned into InterNACHI. Because a day in the attic or the crawlspace beats a day at the office — especially if it Renders your piece of paradise Safe.

How I Show Up
For Every Home

Active & People-Oriented

I left a desk job because I'm too active and too people-oriented for 8:30 to 5. Getting out into homes and helping people with possibly the biggest purchase of their lives is exactly where I'm supposed to be.

Attention to Detail

My attention-to-detail brain is piqued by every inspection. I look at your home the way I'd look at my own — thoroughly, honestly, and with genuine care for what I find.

Insurance Background

As a former insurance agent, I understand what your insurer needs. 4-Point and Wind Mitigation inspections are second nature to me — and I know exactly how to document findings that matter.

InterNACHI Certified

Research led me to InterNACHI because only properly certified and licensed inspectors can sign off on the reports your insurance company will want. I went above and beyond the minimum to earn that certification.

The Team

Meet the Inspectors

Rendered Safe is growing. The inspectors who walk your roof, crawl your crawlspace and write your report bring decades of hands-on trade experience to every visit.

Marine Corps VeteranHVAC & ElectricalCarpentry & Remodeling25+ Years in the Trades

Southern charm personified meets hard work at just the right junction. I hail from south Mississippi, so when I say I'm southern, know that I mean SOUTHERN! Consequently, I am very well mannered. It also gives me a nice, laid back, not-too-full-of-myself demeanor. I'm a veteran of the Marine Corps, which makes for one heck of a work ethic and an extreme sense of pride in my work. Those two characteristics alone already make for a pretty impressive inspector.

Then there's my work experience, and boy is it extensive. I know I said I'm a Marine, and the initial thought is, “Muscles Are Required, Intelligence Not Essential.” Nine out of ten times, that is exactly the case. However, “Marines” ends with an “S” for “Sometimes.” I began my career as an Avionics Intermediate-Level Technician, making sure the communications and navigational systems aboard our finest fighter planes worked correctly. Translation: “Muscle man also smart man.” Specifically, I learned electrical knowledge equivalent to an associate's degree.

While still enlisted, I transitioned to HVAC Technician. When I separated in 2006, I began working for a residential HVAC and plumbing contractor in upstate New York. Five years there, and then I moved to Florida. I was a carpenter at UF and worked my way up to Maintenance Superintendent. Then I struck out on my own as a handyman and remodeler. I even flipped a few houses — the right way, mind you. My expertise is quite extensive.

After the past 25 years of grinding the axe, my body began to send me “check engine” warnings. So I hung up my hammer and picked up a camera. I know houses intimately. They talk sweetly to me. They give me their secrets because they trust me. I'm the friendly neighborhood superhero who used to rescue them from years of neglect. I listen to the houses intently — I just send another superhero to save them now. I'm already your home's friend, because it trusts me. You can trust me, too.

You could pick any inspector off a list, so why does it matter who's actually walking through the attic, poking around that crawlspace, or climbing up on the roof? Because not every inspector has spent time with their hands in the work.

I got started in home remodeling, working with caulking, patching and refinishing residential properties. It wasn't glamorous work, but it gave me something invaluable: a real familiarity with how homes are put together and where the small stuff gets overlooked. Sprinkle in some real estate experience along the way, and I entered this industry with a solid foundation already under my feet.

I paired that hands-on background with my Associate's degree in Business from Santa Fe College, bringing both field experience and a structured, professional mindset to everything I do. Then I earned my home inspector license to do what I was already wired to do: walk through a property and tell the truth about it.

I'm the kind of person who studies the whole game, not just the highlights. I want to know every player, every stat, every detail that most people gloss over. That same mentality is exactly what I bring to every inspection. No sugarcoating. No rushing to the next job. Just a thorough, honest walkthrough from someone who understands what he's looking at.

Whether you're buying your first home, protecting your investment, or trying to get ahead of what your insurance company is about to ask — from full home inspections to four-point and wind mitigation reports — I'm here to make sure you know exactly what you're getting.
