FAQ

Q&A with a Home Inspector

As licensed home inspectors, we've seen it all, from squeaky floorboards to hidden foundation cracks. Here are the most common questions we get from clients.

What is a home inspection?

A home inspection is an objective visual examination of the physical structure and systems of a house, from the roof to the foundation. Home inspections are designed to protect the buyer by revealing problems they might not have noticed otherwise. It is not pass or fail — it gives you a clear picture of the property's condition so you can make an informed decision.

How much does a home inspection cost?

Our home inspections start at $325. The cost will vary based on the square footage of the home, the age of the home, and the location. Call, text, or email us for a quote today!

How much does a Wind Mitigation Inspection cost?

Wind Mitigation inspections start at $100. The cost may vary based on the square footage, age, and location of the home. A Wind Mitigation report can qualify you for significant discounts on your homeowner's insurance in Florida — it often pays for itself many times over.

How much does a 4-Point Inspection cost?

Our 4-Point Inspections start at $100. The cost may vary based on the square footage, age, and location of the home. Many Florida insurance companies require a 4-Point Inspection for homes over 25 years old.

How long does a home inspection take?

Home inspections generally take 2 to 4 hours to complete. The duration depends on many factors such as the size of the home, its condition, and the ability to access certain areas (roof, crawl space, attic, etc.).

Should I attend the inspection?

While Rendered Safe Home Inspections encourages clients to walk through the home with us, we understand you may be too busy. Regardless, we compile a comprehensive inspection report with everything you need — including photos and videos. We always encourage attendance so you can ask questions and learn more about the property!

What if the inspection report reveals problems?

No house is perfect — and that's okay. At the end of the inspection, we provide a detailed inspection report describing the condition of the property with images and videos highlighting what may need repair or replacement. This information empowers you to make an informed decision. It is not pass or fail.

When will I receive my report?

We deliver your report within 24 hours of the conclusion of your home inspection, guaranteed. You'll quickly have access to a full overview of our findings so you can discuss them with us and your agent.

A home inspection is one of the smartest investments you can make during the real estate process. It gives you peace of mind, negotiating power, and a clearer picture of what you're walking into.
